Communication tools; smartphones have made it work much easier for employers together with their employees to keep in touch faster and even more quickly. Integration of social networking services such as WhatsApp, twitter, Wechat among many others can also be used to organize how employees can perform duty, also organize events and promote communication between different departments within an organization.

Distractions; smartphones have consumed a lot of meaningful time that could have been beneficial to perform other duties. Games videos and networking platforms and a maximum reliable net browsing are just but few examples. It is disheartening that a single smartphone can consume ones entire day worse of producing nothing of much importance. Employees are bound to idle the entire day instead of indulging in more important and productive work.

The advantage is that these applications are at their fingertips and some also allow synchronization with computers. Obviously, perfect and speedy output is expected as an end result. Cloud technology perhaps allows employees to access the company’s information even while out of the work place not forgetting the GPS technology which eases travel and service delivery.

Software Entropy; this makes one of the greatest disadvantage of the smart devices. Once technology surpasses a particular device, it tends to lose value. Its compatibility with later models of both hardware and software dwindles thus a great loss to the users. The user is prompted to acquire a new device after a short period of time in order to enjoy the new rather updated services in the market.

New innovations; the rapid changing technology catalyzes new innovations into the market. For instance software engineers come up with new forms of software to solve new upcoming problems for companies. Most of this software run on rather are compatible with the handheld devices-smartphones. At the end both the employees the company itself and third parties end up benefiting from it.

At some point use of smart devices tends to overwork employees. The great ability to telecommute might at times prompt the employee work past the required time. Furthermore connectivity to the customer at all times through the various applications might be tiresome since some might seek their services past the allocated time. This might finally lead to poor productivity in the organization as a result of low morale and esteem at the employees side.

Evidently however much the latest smartphone technology might be very helpful to users, it is bound to have its pros and cons. Efficiency as stated by Isaac Newton can never be at 100%. Faults are bound to occur but the good side too is boldly seen and experienced.
